He’s just a guy who really feeds off human energy, you know? I called my label Bad Boy Entertainment because I wanted to shake things up a bit. Whenever you challenge the norm, people tend to look at you differently…
Former Bad Boy artist Blunt has finally opened up about the allegations against Diddy, and she’s sharing some jaw-dropping stories from her time at the label, including what many call the Bad Boy curse. It seems this curse has haunted every artist who refused to take part in Diddy’s wild antics. Apparently, those so-called freak-off tapes featuring celebrities are being passed around Hollywood. Can you believe that?
A lawyer representing one of the victims revealed that another victim approached her, trying to sell a video of Diddy with a huge celebrity—someone even bigger than him—on one of those freak-off tapes. She claims she saw the video herself and could easily recognize who the celebrity was. Honestly, I’m dying to know! She also mentioned that this isn’t the only tape she’s heard about; there are others floating around in Hollywood, being used as blackmail. They’re basically saying, “You either buy this tape, or I’m going to expose it to everyone.”
I was recently contacted by someone who wanted me to represent them in the sale of one of those Diddy tapes, but I turned it down.
“Hold on a second! Can you say that again? Are you telling me there are actual tapes being shopped around?”
“Yes, it’s true. People are already trying to sell them. We’ve heard whispers about these tapes, but the fact that they’re actively being marketed is real. Some of them have been leaking in Hollywood and are being offered to various individuals. One person specifically reached out to me to help sell a particular video they had.”
When it comes to Tanya, we know she’s not on any of these tapes because she had the strength to walk away from Diddy’s world. But that choice came with a heavy price. She went from being one of Bad Boy’s brightest stars to losing everything and even becoming homeless. At one point, she was so overwhelmed that she considered ending her own life.
Tanya really had it all: an incredible voice, a powerful duet with Lauryn Hill, and the potential to be one of the biggest stars of her generation. But instead of rising to fame, she suddenly vanished from the spotlight, and it took her years to shake off the Bad Boy curse. Thankfully, Tanya never compromised her principles. Unlike many celebrities scrambling to hide their ties to Diddy, she stayed true to herself and ultimately came out on top.
So, what did Tanya share about her time at Bad Boy? Did Diddy really try to pull her into compromising situations? And what did she see at Diddy’s label that made her realize she was dealing with something toxic?
Let’s break it down.
Jesus, my potion… A con artist friend? His gaze is fixed on the SP. For those who might not know, Tanya Trotter, who used to go by the name Blunt, has an inspiring story. She grew up in Washington, DC, and from an early age, it was clear she was destined for a career in music.
“What? Let’s hear it!”
“Mary had a little lamb, Mary had a little lamb, beautiful.”
“Go ahead, girl! You just saved that lamb’s life. No lamb chops tonight, huh?”
Tanya had this deep, soulful voice that could instantly move anyone. By her teenage years, she was already making waves in the music scene. Her big break came in 1993 when she starred alongside Lauryn Hill in Sister Act 2. That performance, especially her rendition of “His Eyes on the Sparrow,” was unforgettable.
“What’s the matter, Rita?”
“That was beautiful! Don’t even try, girl, because you can blow too!”
“Yeah, but you’ve got that kind of voice; you could really make it.”
“Mm-mm! This is for church! What’s wrong with you, girl?”
“I don’t know. I’ve just been thinking. My mother thinks singing is a lost cause, no security.”
“That’s cool, Rita, but what do you think?”
“I don’t know. Let’s try the song I was working on together. You take the high notes, I’ll take the low ones. Just give it a shot!”

“Because I’m happy, and I sing because I’m free! His eyes are on the sparrow!”
“Please don’t stop!”
Tanya was a natural talent, and everyone was buzzing about her potential for Hollywood stardom. When she released her debut album Natural Thing in 1994, she was on the verge of becoming a household name.
“Baby, baby, they tell me how much you…”
Her second single from that album, “Through the Rain,” peaked at number 27, marking her first entry on the US Hot 100. By 1995, Tanya’s talent earned her a nomination for Best New Artist at the Soul Train Awards.
But shortly after that initial success, things started to take a downward turn for Tanya, and you might guess why. At the height of her career, Diddy caught her eye. This was when he was building his Bad Boy Empire, working with artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Faith Evans, and Ma$e. Bad Boy was the ultimate label to be with if you wanted to make it big in the ’90s.
“Yo! Check out a new video from the Hot Boys, Baby! Bling-bling, baby! Yeah, all right, go ahead. Shorty Puff, real quick! Puff, real quick! I wanted to give you props with the Notorious magazine. I know a lot of people don’t talk about that; that’s a good magazine!”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah! We got a magazine! We getting up on the running. Got a new album forever in your stores right now. We got a restaurant in Atlanta. Yo, man, we represent for NY to the fullest! We love everybody from New York, each borough! That’s who we represent! I love y’all for all the support. I love those who hate me; I love y’all too, and I love you, baby!”
But Tanya wasn’t like the other artists. Many industry insiders noticed that she was aware of Diddy’s reputation for leading his artists into a world of partying and excess, and she wanted to steer clear of that lifestyle. However, the opportunity was too enticing to pass up, and in 1996, Tanya signed with Bad Boy Entertainment.
She jumped right into working on her second album, even writing for herself and other Bad Boy artists. At first, Diddy was all in, fully supporting the project. But over time, his enthusiasm started to fade. Years went by, and only two tracks were ever released: “I Love Him” and “The Last Time We Made Love.”
One major reason Diddy neglected Tanya’s career was his obsession with artists like Biggie Smalls, who he believed could make him the most money.
“Hey, what’s up? I’m Puff Daddy, and this is my new artist, Notorious B.I.G.! We’re live at the Outcast Picnic, and it’s about to be a blast! It’s ’94, and we’ve got Craig Mack, Usher Raymond, Mary J. Blige, Pebbles, TLC—everyone is here! Big things are coming, and we’re all about making music for the streets. Thanks for your support; we’re just getting started!”
But there’s another reason Diddy allegedly sabotaged Tanya’s second album. Some whispers suggest he even made calls to block her from signing with other labels. Word on the street is that Tanya turned down Diddy’s “freak-off” sessions after he reportedly tried to persuade her to sleep with some of his male friends. Insiders have claimed that Diddy would throw these wild parties where aspiring artists felt pressured to engage in all sorts of messed-up activities, which he supposedly used as a test of their loyalty.
“I heard him say this right in front of a bunch of people. We were in the studio, and after I spoke up and walked out, he casually said, ‘Yo, I’mma drug them off and pimp them out to my…’ I couldn’t believe it. If this is how he talks about people…”
But Tanya stood her ground. She was one of the women who refused to join Diddy’s party scene. She didn’t want to sell her soul for a shot at success; she believed she could make it on her own. In various interviews, Tanya has made it clear that she wasn’t willing to compromise her values—not even for Diddy. She wanted nothing to do with the corruption that was happening behind the scenes at Bad Boy Records.
Unfortunately, this decision led her career to a standstill. Multiple sources say that not only did Diddy blackball her, but he also erased her from many opportunities in the industry. It might sound unbelievable, but we’ve seen this happen to others who dared to cross him.
For Tanya, this meant losing all the momentum she had built over the years, leading her to a dark period where she found herself homeless and struggling to find work.
“What’s she doing now? Is she still singing? I haven’t heard her in a while.”
“She’s singing. She’s with me and is focused on getting her life back on track.”
“Tanya’s spirit was pretty much crushed by all this, and she even attempted suicide.”
Thankfully, Tanya found her way back and has been vocal about her experiences with Bad Boy, shining a light on the darker side of Hollywood to warn others about the risks of compromising their integrity for fame.
She often emphasizes how crucial it is to hold onto your morals, no matter what you face in the industry.
