Hey, what’s up, everyone? How’s it going today? So, here’s the deal: If you’re Pastor Jamal Bryant, you’re basically telling Ray J, “Baby, you’re not scaring me, and whatever you’ve got, bring it.” And trust me, Ray J is not backing down. He’s been the one standing up against Diddy’s kids, saying, “I know exactly what your dad’s been up to.” He’s out here talking about how celebs are out here paying victims off to keep quiet, and if he’s called to testify, he’s ready to spill the tea in front of the grand jury.
Now, for some reason, Ray J thought it would be a good idea to go and threaten Pastor Jamal Bryant. Yep, the same Pastor Jamal Bryant who was married to Jazelle from Real Housewives of B*‘. And if you know anything about the church world, you know exactly who Jamal Bryant is. The man’s got the gift of gab, and he’s not someone to play with.
I’m kind of confused as to why Ray J even thought going on Jamal’s podcast was a good idea. I get it, though—Ray J has made a career out of playing the “good guy” role, with that wide-eyed, innocent face that looks like he wouldn’t hurt a fly. But let’s be real, we all know appearances can be deceiving. Ray J knows how to work that persona, and whenever he gets into trouble, he quickly switches to that “I’m sorry, ma’am” act to smooth things over. It’s just part of his playbook.
So Ray J went on Jamal Bryant’s podcast, and I could’ve easily said, “Jamal, this is Ray J. You had the same guy on your show who was threatening to do all kinds of things to Fabulous.” But anyway, let’s get back to Jamal. Ray J went up there and started threatening him, and Jamal responded, saying he’s not scared of anyone. Of course, he said it in his “I’m saved and I serve the Lord” way, but let’s be real, it didn’t go over well.
Now, let me tell you what Ray J actually said to Pastor Bryant that got everybody upset. And yes, Ray J was cursing. A lot of people think the reason Ray J went off is because during that interview, he probably said too much—revealed stuff he wasn’t ready for people to know—and it somehow got out.
Honestly, Ray J talking all tough? I’d love to see him try that with the Honorable Louis Farrakhan. If Farrakhan had a podcast, I’d really like to see Ray J try to get all gully with him. But seriously, let me tell you what Ray J actually said. It feels like today might be National Dump Diddy Day, because everybody and their momma seems to be airing out their issues.
Here’s what Ray J said: “Shoutout to Jamal Bryant, shoutout to Alvarez. But if y’all play that interview, somebody’s getting snatched off the pulpit. Don’t play it. It’s out of line. Me and Pastor Bryant need to have a serious conversation because the way I was treated was dirty and illegal. I don’t like it. And I don’t want anybody playing that interview, no matter where you’re from. Just be respectful and treat people right. Don’t call people out their names, and don’t make them feel unsafe in a place they thought was safe.”
Look, we really need to sort this out before it becomes a bigger issue. First things first, Ray J, just stop. Honestly, I don’t care what Ray J’s doing, and I know it’s not my business, but I’ve got to speak on it. Nobody cares about Ray J and his little group of friends, but the way he’s talking to a man of faith—a man of God, like Pastor Jamal Bryant—Ray J, have you completely lost your mind? Somebody’s about to get knocked out of the pulpit over this. You might have a whole crew on the West Coast backing you up, but now you’re dealing with a man of God. And let me tell you something: those church folks aren’t as peaceful as they look. They’ve got people who’ve been saved but aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty if it comes down to it. Just saying.
Anyway, Pastor Jamal Bryant fired back at Ray J after the singer publicly went off on him following their unreleased interview. Shoutout to Valerie Renee for sending me this. Ray J was upset, claiming he didn’t want to sit down for the interview because it wasn’t approved. He even threatened to “snatch someone off the pulpit” (or was it smack? Either way, he’s talking tough).
In response, Pastor Bryant took to Instagram, defending the integrity of his podcast but still speaking respectfully about Ray J. He said, “I was truly grateful to have interviewed one of the few mavericks of this generation, Ray J, who has had such a big impact in so many different fields. But it was both surprising and disheartening to wake up to baseless threats and accusations directed at me. In keeping with our commitment to honest dialogue, we edited out certain comments that could have legal consequences, all to protect the best interests of a brother we respect.”
He made it clear that the goal of his podcast is to have real, honest conversations with thought leaders, and this episode definitely stayed true to that. He explained, “We’re a live-to-tape show, no edits. But in the spirit of brotherhood, we made an exception with the agreement that no further changes would be made, as we want to stay authentic and transparent with every episode.” So, if that’s the case, why even bring it up? Why not just cut it out and move on? He responded, “I’m not getting involved in something that tears down our community or goes against everything I stand for. I love my brother unconditionally, and I’ll keep my word.” That was a bit of a church sermon moment, right? But honestly, he doesn’t want to put it out there, it wasn’t cleared beforehand, and he didn’t feel it was a safe space for him. So, what’s your take?
Now, let’s really get into it. What do you think Ray J was admitting to? Was he confessing to being the “freak” people talk about? Maybe he’s involved with Diddy’s crew—some of the so-called “booty bandits” or “baby oil bandits”? Or maybe he was just talking too much, putting himself in a situation he didn’t want to be in, and now he’s trying to cover it up? What do y’all think?
And here’s something we’ve all been overlooking. Everyone’s so focused on Diddy right now that we’re forgetting Ray J has his own mess to deal with. Princess Love has mentioned taking her proof to court. Did we forget about that? What if Ray J said something that could hurt him in his divorce case, and now Princess is planning to use it against him? Could this whole situation be way bigger than we think?
I’m not laughing about the Princess Love stuff, just amused by how Ray J’s been able to turn his association with Diddy into something that’s keeping him in the spotlight. He’s getting paid for every interview, making appearances on documentaries, and riding the wave of drama. One thing’s for sure—Ray J knows how to leverage the media. We’ve honestly been talking about him more than Diddy lately. But we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out.
So, what do you think about Jamal Bryant saying he edited stuff out? At first, I thought this was all about Diddy, but now I’m not so sure. I’m starting to think this might have more to do with Ray J’s divorce and what’s going on with Princess. He might’ve said something that could hurt him in court, and she’s got plans to use it against him. Of course, I could be wrong, but that’s my hunch. What do you all think? Let me know in the comments. Talk soon.
