Hey, everyone! How’s it going today? If you’re feeling a bit worn out, you’re not alone—because once again, in 2024, it seems like people are coming for the culture. But let me tell you, we’re not about to let that slide. So, who’s the latest to jump into the mix? If you guessed DJ Vlad, then you’ve got it right. It seems like anytime there’s Black culture involved, DJ Vlad is right in the middle of it—telling us how we should feel about our music, our culture, and who we should celebrate or not. To me, DJ Vlad is the definition of a culture vulture. And if you listen to what others are saying, they’re claiming he might be working with some darker forces. I honestly don’t understand why folks keep showing up on his platform, but hey, people do what they do.
One person who isn’t having it is Marlon Wayans. Shout out to Barely Renee for bringing this to my attention—Marlon and DJ Vlad are in the middle of a serious clash right now. Marlon’s calling Vlad out big time, and what does DJ Vlad do? The usual—he responds with some ignorant, homophobic, anti-LGBTQ, and even anti-Black comments. Honestly, I’m not even surprised. But I’d love for you all to hear it and let me know if you feel the same way. Again, this is just how I see it, but I gotta ask—how long do you think it’ll be before The Breakfast Club comes out, shucking and jiving, ready to do some damage control for DJ Vlad?
Because let’s be real, we can talk all we want, but we need to start figuring out who’s really being honest. You already know how I feel about Charlamagne Tha God. And what about DJ Envy and that federal lawsuit he’s wrapped up in? Has that even been resolved yet? Are they gonna address that? Somehow, I doubt it—but you can bet they’ll step in to defend DJ Vlad. I still can’t wrap my head around how Vlad even has a platform anymore—it’s wild to me. Anyway, according to Baller Alert, this whole feud kicked off after Marlon Wayans requested $40K for an interview, and DJ Vlad didn’t take too kindly to it.

So, apparently, things kicked off when Marlon Wayans asked for $40K and 30% of future revenue for appearing on Vlad’s platform. Honestly, though, if someone names their price, why get so worked up? Just say yes or no—no need to take it personally. And let’s be real, someone should be making DJ Vlad cough up some serious cash, right?
But then it got messy. DJ Vlad put out a clip where he and Aries Spears were laughing at Marlon’s asking price. Wait, what? Marlon Wayans wants $40K? Either you think he’s worth it or you don’t. But Vlad didn’t just stop there. He brought Aries Spears into the mix—someone who’s been accused of some really troubling stuff, like grooming and pedophilia—to mock one of the most loved families in the Black community, the Wayans. Seriously, these culture vultures are way too comfortable. Instead of focusing on the outsiders crashing the party, why not look at the folks who keep inviting them to the cookout in the first place?
They also threw in this dig that despite being part of one of Hollywood’s most successful families, Marlon hasn’t gone viral or made a big splash with his interviews. But hold up—are we really going to laugh with an accused pedophile over Marlon’s asking price? And people are actually defending this? It’s crazy. Naturally, Marlon caught wind of it and defended himself, saying his demands were totally reasonable. He even posted a montage of his views, like, “See? I told them I was giving them a deal. Oh well.” Vlad, of course, hit back, saying no one’s paying $40K for a Marlon Wayans interview when his videos typically get 100K to 300K views.
Honestly, Vlad is getting way too comfortable. He’s not even that talented, but he’s full of himself. Marlon clapped back, calling him out as unprofessional. He was like, “If you don’t like the number, just move on. You’re making yourself look bad trying to drag me like this. I’ve never seen such a silly negotiating tactic.”
And let’s not forget the last time DJ Vlad went viral—he tried to get a Black professor fired, or at least he threatened to, on Twitter. It wasn’t until the backlash hit that he backed off. And then Charlamagne and the crew at The Breakfast Club were like, “Well, you know, that’s just Vlad. Everyone’s got their right.” Let’s see how fast they defend him this time around.
So, Vlad decided to go low and hinted that Marlon Wayans might be part of the LGBTQ community, throwing shade at his role in White Chicks. He said something like, “Marlon Wayans, I’m sorry you don’t find me attractive, but luckily for both of us, I’m straight. With your recent photoshoot and your history of dressing up as a woman, maybe now’s the perfect time for you to come out of the closet.” Really? We’re just going to let this guy disrespect Marlon like that? The Wayans family is basically Black Hollywood royalty, and here’s Vlad, a guest in the culture, thinking he can just drag someone like Marlon. He’s gotten way too comfortable, acting like he can walk all over a legend.
He even went on to say, “Coming out as gay in 2024 might revive your fading acting career. And since I turned down your $40K offer for an interview, maybe you can make that amount from your first gay porn scene. ‘Marlon Gays’ would be a great name, by the way.”

Wait, what? Vlad isn’t even funny or clever. People shouldn’t let him get this comfortable—I mean, I was never watching his show anyway. Marlon Wayans hit back, saying, “DJ Vlad, this is what you’ve been asking for. I told you to leave me alone, but you just had to stir things up? You can’t compete with me, man. I’m a legend. And every now and then, I’ll come down from my throne to deal with folks like you. Keep it up, though. There are levels to this.”
Marlon also said, “This is why Black celebrities will never respect VladTV,” pointing out how disliked Vlad is in the Black community. He even tagged him and added, “DJ Vlad, you’re too hated by the urban community to mess with me. I’m loved, you’re not. Where’s your face, man? You couldn’t exploit me. How much is the government paying you? I hope it’s at least $40K.”
DJ Vlad is way out of line here. He’s seriously disliked, at least in the circles I know. And the people backing him up? They’re probably part of the same group. If you want to talk about a new order, it’s simple: it’s all about money. There’s a new wave of entertainers and media people who’ve figured out that if they suck up to some billionaire, they might get a piece of the pie, and that’s what they’re loyal to.
“You know, it’s funny—half the time, these people don’t even like the communities they came from because those communities remind them of their own hypocrisy. They come off as lacking empathy, pathetic, and honestly just annoying. But for DJ Vlad to make anti-LGBTQ comments to try and humiliate someone, while sitting there laughing with a known pedophile, all because Marlon Wayans didn’t give him the time of day—what’s that about? If Marlon Wayans is so irrelevant, why did you even ask him for an interview, DJ Vlad? Clearly, you thought you could exploit him, and now you’re mad because Marlon isn’t like the others who let you. You’re frustrated because you came up against one Black man who wouldn’t let you take advantage of him. And guess what? He doesn’t need your views, your name, or to sit on that couch looking at your unhealthy complexion and scruffy red beard.
